Kingston Foreshore
The Old Bus Depot Markets is located within the exciting and unfolding Kingston Foreshore Redevelopment area.
In fact, the Old Bus Depot Markets was the very first cultural attraction to begin at the Foreshore over 11 years ago and has been the anchor attraction ever since.
In addition to the Markets and the Canberra Glassworks which opened in 2007, there will soon be many more reasons to visit as the shores take shape and the harbour itself is completed. Think foreshore parklands, waterfront promenades, cafes, and outstanding cultural facilities.
It is the vision of the ACT Government that the Kingston Foreshore brings the city to the lake, creating a waterfront location and a vibrant, cosmopolitan environment where Canberrans and visitors can live, work and play.
Canberra Glassworks
Canberra Glassworks is Australia’s only cultural centre that is wholly dedicated to contemporary glass art. It is a working glassworks that provides glassmaking facilities to glass artists.
Visitors to the Market can wander over and watch the glassmaking in progress, as well as take a tour and learn about glass, or even sign up for a hands on experience making a glass piece.
