Fabulous Food

Ask a Canberran and they will tell you that lunch at the Old Bus Depot Markets is a tradition for many people on a Sunday. Where else can you go in Canberra and get such a large choice between Laotian, French, Ethiopian, Spanish or Latin American food, followed up with a delectable dessert from Erika Lanc?

Try some delicious Ethiopian Samosas or a stir fried Chicken and Basil from the Laotian stall. Love Churros, a taco salad, or rich French Quiche made with fresh cream? Are your taste buds watering yet for the Old Bus Depot Markets…?.

Jo Sladic, the longtime resident “Orange Juice Man” has the sweetest, freshly squeezed juice to quench your thirst, or you on a cold winters’ day indulge in a comforting hot mulled wine, or lemon and ginger drink.

With three premium coffee outlets at the markets you can be assured of an ‘excellent espresso’, ‘ lovely lattes’ and ‘fantastic flat whites. Add a yummy cakes and biscuit and you’ve got it made.

Two local Canberra coffee companies Cosmorex and Wagonga roast their own coffee beans, provide specialised blends which we can claim as the markets own blend. Cosmorex is served at the Depot Café and The Outpost on the lower level” and Wagonga can be savoured at the upper level coffee cart.

The Old Bus Depot Markets is also well-known for the superb take home food options – “Food on the go”. You could eat for a week from the gourmet provisions found here and fill the cupboard with local specialities and ready-made meals.
